The iPhone app for push ups is fairly minimal. However it doesn't need to do much. Minimal is all you need.

The program allows you to:

Record your initial test result

Do your daily routine. It prompts you for the set, and a timer counts down between reps.

It shows you a good form push up (essentially an animated gif)

Get some tips for the week

Log and graph your progress over time (very nice feature)

This weekend we went to the NIN|JA 2009 concert as way to get out and start having some fun. This turned out to be one of my better decisions.

It's been a long time since I've been to a concert an NIN definitely show off why concerts are great. The show was powerful, well produced and a just plain rocking good time.

I started a small gallery of some of the better pictures that came out. I'm going to have to learn some tricks to take better pictures though.

Here's one of the videos we took that shows off just exactly how hard these guys rock:

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://fwitness.squarespace.com/journal/2009/5/18/time-to-get-active.html"><rss:title>Time to get active</rss:title><rss:link>http://fwitness.squarespace.com/journal/2009/5/18/time-to-get-active.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

Good news to those of you who stare guiltily at your lonely and forgotten Wii Balance board. The folks over at EA are announcing a new Wii Fit challenger called EA Sports Active.

EASA looks to differentiate itself by taking a much more aggressive (read sweaty) approach to casual exercise. The set includes a resistance band and pocket to hold your nun-chuck. Although some of the items use the Balance Board it is not required as many of the exercises simply use the remote and nun-chuck combo.

I first found transportdirect.info. It looked great. It offered train/rail, bus options etc. However when I started using it there was some trouble. It didn't seem to be able to find my destinations. After a while I figured out that it's apparently a euro-specific site. On to the next one.

It basically allows you to plan what you're going to see when you get there. This is great but still makes for a lot of legwork to actually book the items and make it happen. This is perfect for the frequent and active trip taker but I'm in need of something with a bit more handholding. Until I know exactly what I'm doing then something needs to give me a package and a dollar sign.
