Trying again

Here's a test post from the iPhone app. Let's see what this is capable of.

Going strong

Finished the 30 day challenge on "low intensity".  Hundred pushup quest continues.  About 1/5 of the way through another 30-day challenge on "hard intensity."  This is the equivalent to a real, 30 minute workout.

Wish me well!

This should be no trouble

Alright so I decided to actually start the program today.  I figured why wait?

The iPhone app for push ups is fairly minimal.  However it doesn't need to do much.  Minimal is all you need.

The program allows you to:

  • Record your initial test result
  • Do your daily routine.  It prompts you for the set, and a timer counts down between reps.
  • It shows you a good form push up (essentially an animated gif)
  • Get some tips for the week
  • Log and graph your progress over time (very nice feature)

Committing to the plan

I'm going to give the plan over at hundredpushups a try.  They even have an iPhone app ($1.99) to track progress.  It's part of my commitment to myself to actively change my life.

In the meantime the EA Sports Active pack has been working well.  I'm almost through the 30-day challenge and haven't missed a session yet.  However there are almost no abdominal exercises.  So now my arms, legs and shoulders are getting tone, but my middle is a big old tire.

Getting Out, Rocking Out

This weekend we went to the NIN|JA 2009 concert as way to get out and start having some fun.  This turned out to be one of my better decisions.

It's been a long time since I've been to a concert an NIN definitely show off why concerts are great.  The show was powerful, well produced and a just plain rocking good time.

I started a small gallery of some of the better pictures that came out.  I'm going to have to learn some tricks to take better pictures though.

Here's one of the videos we took that shows off just exactly how hard these guys rock:
